Update (April 25): Yup, even more. Two more dates have been added: Boston’s Fenway Park and a second show in Cleveland. Tickets for North American dates are selling very quickly.
Update (April 13): Even more summer dates have been added to Paul McCartney’s tour, including stadiums in NJ and Philadelphia.
Though it was obviously long planned, Paul McCartney today announced the first 10 dates for his 2016 “One on One” tour, just as he and the Beatles family have started to mourn the loss of legendary producer George Martin. The tour kicks off with seven North American dates, beginning April 13th with his first appearance in Fresno, CA. That leg concludes on May 2nd. Given the number of off days in the current schedule, it seems like only a matter of time before additional dates are announced (see below).

The official announcement notes: “As with the launch of every new Paul McCartney tour, ‘One On One’ promises to unveil a dazzling re-designed set, dozens of classics from the most beloved catalog in popular music, spanning Paul’s entire career – as a solo artist, member of Wings and of course as a Beatle – and no shortage of surprises.”
McCartney has curated a post-Beatles collection, coming on a variety of configurations.
After a break, the tour resumes in Dusseldorf, Germany on May 28th with the classic rock star’s first appearance there since 1972. The European leg also includes his first performance in Munich in over ten years.
Tickets for the North American dates are available here.
McCartney’s “Out There” tour – in which he played 27 shows in 22 cities throughout the world – concluded on October 22, 2015 with his first concert in Buffalo, NY. Highlights included his debut in South Korea, three nights at the Tokyo Dome, a stand at Paris’ majestic Stade de France, arena shows across the U.S., U.K. and Europe, and headlining at festivals such as Firefly, Roskilde, and Lollapalooza (to an audience reported to be 100,000).
The announcement notes that the “One On One” Tour will debut a brand new production, utilizing state of the art audio and video technology with massive screens, lasers, fireworks and “a staggering selection of the best songs ever written or performed.”
Macca had previously announced two European festival appearances in June.
