Susanna Hoffs, Bangles Co-Founder, Announces 2026 Solo Album, Tour

Susanna Hoffs, co-founder and frontwoman of The Bangles, will release a new album of all-original music Sept. 18, 2026, on her own record label, Baroque Folk. Titled The List, the album “is what happens when an artist and her closest friends gather around the kitchen table and share the stories that define one’s life: heartbreak, an empty nest, a new crush, foolish mistakes and the fading memory of what that might have been,” says the announcement for the album. “Hoffs turns her deepest, decade-spanning memories into 12 songs that not only reflect what it has meant to be alive and in love, but turn the page to a new chapter in her astounding artistic legacy,” the press release continues.

Recorded live in her Los Angeles home, and produced with CJ Camerieri (Bon Iver, Paul Simon, yMusic), The List features collaborations with Rufus Wainwright, Dan Wilson, Edie Brickell, Greg Leisz, Ryan Lerman, Desure, Jesse Harris, Ny Oh, Grant Milliken, Spencer Zahn, Larry Goldings and more, “who together shared laughter and tears over the course of vulnerable sessions and true confessions,” says the announcement. The List’s lead single, “Casablanca,” written with Wilson and Camerieri, is “a meditation on unfinished romances suspended in time. Inspired both by a rewatch of the film Casablanca, and the surreal New Orleans encounter Hoffs had with the Grateful Dead’s Bob Weir in 1988—a walk through the French Quarter, an impromptu parade of Dead Heads forming behind them—it is a song about possibility, and what might have been.

“Across The List,” the announcement continues, “she channels her sense of humor, keen powers of observation and eye for detail into powerful statements of love and longing, loss and resilience, loneliness and limbo, reinvention and self-discovery.” The List closes with “What Are Wings For” written by Hoffs, Camerieri and Brickell, for the musical adaptation of Hoffs’ bestselling, debut novel, This Bird Has Flown. “Sung by the story’s protagonist, Jane Start, it is a declaration of personal and artistic freedom, as Jane finds the courage to break free from expectation and claim her own moment in the spotlight, finding her own voice.”

Ahead of the album release, Hoffs and her band—Camerieri, Ryan Lerman, Spencer Zahn, JT Bates—will begin touring throughout the U.S. on Sept. 5. Dates include a sold-out, five-night residency at New York City’s Cafe Carlyle, festival appearances, shows with Billy Idol and more listed below.
