Joe Perry, co-founder, songwriter, co-producer and guitarist of Aerosmith, has announced more shows in support of his solo album, Sweetzerland Manifesto, released earlier this year via his Roman Records label. The headlining dates kick off November 30 before wrapping up with three Los Angeles-area shows.
These performances follow gigs in April where Perry debuted his new touring band featuring his Aerosmith bandmate Brad Whitford, also on guitar, with Gary Cherone of Extreme singing lead vocals. Dates are below; tickets are available here.
From the announcement: Along with choice cuts from his catalog of solo records, Perry will be performing rarely played Aerosmith classics from the band’s early records including Toys in the Attic, Get Your Wings, and Rocks, among others.
On August 15, Aerosmith announced a 2019 Las Vegas residency, dubbed Deuces Gone Wild.
Sweetzerland Manifesto is the guitarist’s sixth solo album, with 10 tracks all written or co-written by Perry (many with the album’s guest vocalists), except for a cover of “Eve Of Destruction” with Perry on lead vocals and his Hollywood Vampires bandmate Johnny Depp on drums. The album features guest appearances from numerous friends and classic rock icons. “Aye, Aye, Aye,” features co-writer Robin Zander of Cheap Trick on lead vocals. There are three collaborations with David Johansen, singing lead, and another three with co-writer Terry Reid.
