Aerosmith have announced a 2019 Las Vegas residency, named Deuces Are Wild, at the Park Theater at the new Park MGM Resort. The 18 dates comprise two legs of nine dates each from April 6-26 and again June 19 – July 9. Tickets are available here and here. (See the complete schedule below.)

The band formally revealed the news during their live appearance on NBC’s The Today Show on Wednesday, August 15. “We’re gonna keep it who we are,” said Steven Tyler. “It’s gonna be beautiful and rocked out and we’ll get to use some special effects that have never been used before.”

Joe Perry said: “When you have a residency, people come from all over the world.”

The band began their Today Show set with “Love in an Elevator,” followed by “Sweet Emotion.”

Perry had previously shared the news on August 8, though without the specifics, during a live interview on SiriusXM’s Beatles Channel.

The musician had just finished a lengthy discussion with legendary disc jockey Dennis Elsas on his appreciation of the Beatles. That’s when the co-host of the weekly “Fab Fourum” program on the Beatles Channel asked if the band would be making an announcement during their August 15 appearance on NBC’s The Today Show. Perry shared the news about the residency, adding: “What we’re talking about is having an experience that you wouldn’t be able to see on a regular Aerosmith tour.

“I feel like we’ve been out of the wind for a while and it seems like it would be a really cool thing to bring some of the history back, so the production is gonna look like that. But without losing what we are: a hardcore rock and roll band.”

In Best Classic Bands’ exclusive interview with Perry, published last January, the musician indicated that the band would kick off a farewell tour later this year to begin an extended 50th anniversary celebration. That run will now begin in 2019.

For the 2019 Vegas dates, members of Aerosmith’s “Aero Force One” paid fan club will receive access to an exclusive presale beginning Thursday, Aug. 16 at 9 a.m. PT. Citi® is the official presale credit card of Aerosmith’s residency at Park Theater. As such, Citi® cardmembers will have access to purchase presale tickets beginning Monday, Aug. 20 at 10 a.m. PT thru Citi’s Private Pass® program.

The August 15 announcement describes the upcoming residency as “one of the most immersive, state-of-the art audio and video technology experiences in Las Vegas. The show features never-seen-before visuals and audio from Aerosmith recording sessions. Grammy Award winning producer Giles Martin, known for creating the soundscape for “The Beatles LOVE” by Cirque du Soleil in Las Vegas, will create a spectacular show experience.”

The band has teamed up with THX and L-Acoustics for the world’s first THX Certified live performance presented in L-ISA Immersive Hyperreal Sound.

“Nineteen-seventy, to me, is where my heart is as far as when the band started,” Perry told Best Classic Bands last January, “and the 50th anniversary, so that’s what we’ll be celebrating. That’s what we’ll be gearing up for.”

Aerosmith–Tyler (vocals), Perry (lead guitar), Brad Whitford (guitar), Tom Hamilton (bass) and Joey Kramer (drums)–have sold over 150 million albums worldwide and been inducted into the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame. They are the recipients of countless awards including four Grammys, eight American Music Awards, and 12 MTV Video Music Awards among many other honors.
