Graham Nash has published a children’s book based on his 1970 song, “Our House.” The title arrived on June 1, 2021, in the U.S.; a U.K. edition will be published on July 1 from Backbeat Books.

From the announcement: Lovingly illustrated with thirty original and inspired works by esteemed art director, graphic designer, and illustrator Hugh Syme, Our House brings to life the joyful emotions of Nash’s song. Carole King wrote the foreword. The book conjures the warm feelings we all share in our hearts about a loving and caring home.

Appropriate for all ages, Our House is a beautifully illustrated, magical visual journey for readers of all ages.

The book contains a newly recorded version by Nash of the classic song, punctuating the book’s images and allowing for fun sing-a-longs with the family. Nash wrote the song as an account of domestic happiness when he and Joni Mitchell were in a relationship. It was released as a single from the Crosby, Stills, Nash & Young’s Déjà Vu album, reaching #30 on the Hot 100.

The well known lyrics features the chorus:

Our house is a very, very, very fine house
With two cats in the yard
Life used to be so hard
Now everything is easy ’cause of you

The legendary singer-songwriter is a two-time Rock and Roll Hall of Fame inductee – with Crosby, Stills, and Nash and with the Hollies. He was also inducted into the Songwriter’s Hall of Fame twice, as a solo artist and with CSN.

Nash’s passionate voice continues to be heard in support of peace and social and environmental justice. The No Nukes/Musicians United for Safe Energy (MUSE) concerts he organized in 1979 with Jackson Browne, Bonnie Raitt, James Taylor, and John Hall remain seminal benefit events. In 2011, Nash was instrumental in bringing MUSE back to the forefront with a concert to benefit Japan disaster relief and groups promoting non-nuclear energy worldwide.

Nash is also an internationally renowned photographer and visual artist. His work is collected in the book Eye to Eye: Photography by Graham Nash. Nash’s photos have been shown in galleries and museums worldwide.
