Veteran post-punk band, the Psychedelic Furs, led by brothers Richard Butler and Tim Butler, are celebrating the many singles they’ve released throughout their career with an extensive “Singles Tour” tour that includes U.K. dates for the first time in five years. The tour begins in North America on July 19. (See below for dates.)
Since 1980, the Furs have released seven studio albums and a string of singles from the early days of “Sister Europe” and “We Love You” and continuing on through such iconic hit songs as “Love My Way,” “Heaven,” “The Ghost In You,” “Heartbreak Beat” and “Pretty In Pink.”
The nine-city U.K. jaunt begins on September 1 in Glasgow and continues through to September 11 in Norwich. Supporting for the U.K. tour is the Lene Lovich Band, led by the new wave singer with Subterraneans frontman Jude Rawlins. Lovich’s 1979 single “Lucky Number” reached #3 in the U.K. Tickets for the U.K. dates are on sale at axs.com.
