In 2018, Lynyrd Skynyrd announced they would embark on their Last of the Street Survivors Farewell Tour. The career-concluding farewell tour logged over 50 stops by the end of the year.

Johnny Van Zant, Gary Rossington, and Rickey Medlocke spoke with Dan Rather on The Big Interview during the first leg of the 2018 farewell tour. Reflecting on Skynyrd’s enduring legacy, Rossington told Rather, “It takes a long time to finish a farewell tour when you’re like us, ‘cause we’ve played everywhere… I keep jokin’ it’d take ten years to do the farewell tour.”

On Feb. 4, 2019, the southern rock icons announced a 2019 edition, which began March 2. Skynyrd were joined for select dates by special guests including Bad Company, Randy Bachman, and Hank Williams Jr. The two-year total exceeded 100 shows.

Now, on Dec. 3, the group have announced the third year of the tour, with 2020 U.S. dates. Tickets go on sale Dec. 6, with pre-sales beginning Dec. 4.

The tour derives its name from the Lynyrd Skynyrd song, “The Last of the Street Survivors” and the band’s fifth studio album Street Survivors.

The farewell tour features original member Rossington joined by Van Zant, Medlocke, Mark “Sparky” Matejka, Michael Cartellone, Keith Christopher, Peter Keys, Dale Krantz Rossington, Carol Chase and special guest Jim Horn.
