‘John, Yoko and Me’ Book From Lennon-Ono Insider, Elliot Mintz
by Best Classic Bands StaffElliot Mintz, a longtime entertainment consultant, publicist and insider, has written a book about the last ten years of the life of John Lennon and his partnership with Yoko Ono. We All Shine On: John, Yoko and Me arrived October 22, 2024, via Dutton. It’s available in the U.S. here and in the U.K. here. Mintz, a friend of the couple since the early Seventies, was a constant presence in their lives and has served as an unofficial spokesman for the Lennon estate.
From the publisher’s original announcement: Elliot Mintz spent his life working with some of the biggest names in show business, but perhaps the most important and influential partnership he had was his work and close friendship with John Lennon and Yoko Ono. In his memoir, We All Shine On, Mintz finally tells the story of their relationship, which has spanned more than fifty years and continues to this day.
Through personal and revealing chapters full of intriguing details, Elliot Mintz transports book readers from his first interview with Yoko in 1971, through the years that he supported Lennon and Ono both personally and professionally through creative highs, relationship and private challenges, fascinating interactions with the other former Beatles, and the happiest moments of their lives together, Sean Lennon’s birth and childhood. And, of course, Mintz was by Ono’s side in the days, weeks, and months after Lennon’s murder, when Mintz eventually became the official spokesperson of the Lennon estate.

Perfect for Beatles fans and music lovers, the 304-page book will provide an intimate and revealing portrait of John and Yoko as people, partners, and friends, and most of all, celebrate the friendship that John, Yoko, and Elliot shared for so long.
Prior to being a consultant, Mintz, born Feb. 16, 1945, worked as a radio DJ and television host and served as the entertainment correspondent for Eyewitness News on KABC.
On Oct. 22, Mintz will appear for a discussion and book signing at Barnes & Noble The Grove in Los Angeles. Tickets are available here.

Jump into a conversationJohn seems so at peace with himself, and the Beatles, in the interview.
Considering Elliot’s upcoming book, now would be a great time for Sirius/XM to resurrect “The Lost Lennon Tapes” for a new generation of listeners. And for those of us who may have missed an episode or 20 during the original run.
