Lindsey Buckingham and Christine McVie have released a new “Making-Of” video today (May 25) in support of their forthcoming duets album, and Fleetwood Mac fans will be thrilled.
Word first arrived on January 13 that the longtime band members had joined together to record their first-ever album as a duo. On April 11, full details emerged. Simply titled Lindsey Buckingham/Christine McVie, the 10-song album will be released by Atlantic Records on June 9, followed by a run of U.S. concerts beginning June 21, with special guest The Wallflowers.

In the “Making-Of” clip, Buckingham reveals: “We had gone in the studio before the last Fleetwood Mac tour to begin this duet album. The meaning became even broader than ‘Let’s get on with the tour,’ it became ‘let’s get on with everything we’ve got left to do.’ Getting in the studio… reaffirmed the bond that we had which that had been laying dormant for some time.”

The pair went in to record new material prior to rehearsals for the tour and their natural creative chemistry was reignited. “We immediately thought of John and Mick,” says Buckingham. “I mean, the greatest rhythm section there is, right?”
Thus, every member is involved except for Stevie Nicks. The full Fleetwood Mac lineup is reuniting this summer for a pair of stadium concerts, dubbed The Classic, in Los Angeles and New York in July.
