Brian Wilson and the Zombies have announced a North American tour to celebrate their music from 1968 and beyond.
The late summer tour is being described as “Something Great From ’68” as much of the performances will focus on the two acts’ repertoire from that year.
Tickets are available at Ticketmaster.
Wilson will primarily perform songs from what he calls his two favorite Beach Boys albums, 1968’s Friends and 1971’s Surf’s Up, while also scattering the setlist with rarities and classics. His former Beach Boys bandmates Al Jardine and Blondie Chaplin will join the Hall of Fame musician onstage.
“It’s been quite a year and I’m ready to go out and tour some music that makes everyone have a feel good vibe,” Wilson said in the May 7 statement. “The Friends album has always been one of my favorites, and I love the music from that time in history.”
Wilson has other 2019 dates billed as Pet Sounds: The Final Performances. (See below.)

The Zombies will perform their Odessey & Oracle album (which includes the hit “Time of the Season”), as they have been doing for several years, while also playing such other classic rock favorites as “She’s Not There” and the Argent hit, “Hold Your Head Up.”
The 2019 Rock Hall inductees will first return to the U.S. in August with their own headlining shows featuring their current lineup of original members Rod Argent and Colin Blunstone, plus Steve Rodford, Tom Toomey and Søren Koch.
On September 6, their live band will be supplemented by original members Chris White and Hugh Grundy for the dates with Wilson.

Jump into a conversationIf I were Jardine and Wilson, I would be PISSED that such a video clip was released. Clearly, the camera movement on the second tune wasn’t meant to be art.
