Alice Cooper has announced a dozen U.S. concerts for the summer. The dates, announced on April 15, precede the 2024 edition of his “Freaks on Parade” tour with Rob Zombie. (Rounding out that line-up once again are industrial pioneers Ministry and eclectic alternative rock act Filter.) Cooper’s band is in Australia for several April shows and after a break, they’ll play numerous European festivals. Tickets for the newly announced concerts go on sale to the general public on April 19 at 10 a.m. local time here. A pre-sale begins April 16.
Cooper pioneered a grandly theatrical brand of hard rock that was designed to shock. Drawing equally from horror movies, vaudeville, and garage rock, the group created a stage show that featured electric chairs, guillotines, fake blood and boa constrictors. Cooper, who turned 76 on Feb. 4, continues his productive and busy career, touring worldwide while also writing, recording and releasing new albums like 2021’s Detroit Stories, which entered the Billboard chart at #1 and a 2023 album, Road.
Cooper’s Billion Dollar Babies received a 50th anniversary edition on March 8 and is available to order here.
As a rock icon and filmmaker with a unique vision, Zombie has continuously stretched the boundaries of both music and film. He has sold over 15 million albums worldwide, and is the writer/director of eight feature films with a worldwide gross totaling more than $150 million. The eight-time Grammy nominee released his most recent album, The Lunar Injection Kool Aid Eclipse, in 2021.
