Al Stewart will celebrate his 80th birthday in 2025 with a farewell tour of the United Kingdom. Stewart, who recently relocated to Chandler, Ariz. from Los Angeles (his home for the last 45 years) will be winding down his touring schedule with his long time band The Empty Pockets. An artist pre-sale begins September 11 at 10 a.m. UK time. General on sale is September 13 here. (Tickets for Stewart’s 2024-2025 U.S. dates are available here and here.)

Stewart made the announcement on Sept. 6, one day after he turned 79. He came to stardom as part of the legendary British folk revival in the sixties and seventies and developed the combination of folk-rock songs with delicately woven tales of the great characters and events from history. He is best known for his 1976 hit single “Year of the Cat” from the Platinum album of the same name and the 1978 Platinum follow-up album Time Passages. He played at the first ever Glastonbury Festival in 1970, worked with Yoko Ono pre-John Lennon and shared a London apartment with a young Paul Simon.

Stewart’s recordings are available in the U.S. here and in the U.K. here.
