Paul Simon Sets ‘The Quiet Celebration Concert’ Album

Paul Simon’s surprising news in 2025 that he would return to touring following a self-imposed retirement after his 2018 “Homeward Bound—The Farewell Tour,” led to tours of the U.S. and Europe in 2025, as well as a second U.S. run in 2026. Now, one of those concerts has been captured for release. Paul Simon: The Quiet Celebration Concert, recorded at McCaw Hall in Seattle, arrives on October 9, 2026, via Legacy Recordings on 2-CDs or 3-LPs. In our review of one of his recent performances, Best Classic Bands wrote, “Like many of the octogenarian singers from the ’60s, Simon’s voice has aged. But that’s not a bad thing. His clean, clear tenor has become much more expressive, taking on a weary, almost mournful quality colored by a gentle vibrato, and his cheeky, conversational singing style is now tinged with both wisdom and vulnerability.”

From the June 30 announcement: Simon brings his critically acclaimed and GRAMMY®-nominated Seven Psalms to life in this first-ever live performance of the complete piece for his Quiet Celebration, an intimate evening spanning his vast career and celebrating new arrangements of timeless classics, deep cuts, and new musical discoveries.

Inspired to perform again, Simon, born Oct. 13, 1941, began work rehearsing and figuring out how he could bring Seven Psalms to the stage. His transformation of the movements for live performance gave way to all-new renditions of some of his most cherished songs and a deep desire to bring these contemplative and intricate pieces to audiences. A Quiet Celebration toured the U.S. in small venues, selected for their acoustic prowess and intimate setting, allowing audiences to engage with the music like never before.
