A rejuvenated Pretenders, following dozens of 2016-17 dates with Stevie Nicks and Blondie, and a recent studio album, Alone, have booked 2018 tours with Phil Collins and Simple Minds.

On Dec. 4, Collins announced that Pretenders, led as always by Chrissie Hynde, would be joining him on many of his (mostly) South American stadium tour. The month-long trek beginS on Feb. 22 in Rio de Janeiro, Brazil and continue through Mar. 23 in San Juan, Puerto Rico.
The U.K. dates with Simple Minds, Grandslam 2018, mark the first time since Live Aid that the two bands will share the same stage. The tour also features Scottish singer-songwriter K.T. Tunstall. Simple Minds fanclub tickets are available now here and here.
Simple Minds, formed in Scotland in 1977, have enjoyed an astounding 21 Top 20 U.K. singles. Their biggest U.S. hits were “Don’t You (Forget About Me)” (#1) and “Alive and Kicking” (#3), both in 1985. Their next album, Walk Between Worlds, is being released on Feb. 2.
Pretenders earned six U.K. Top 10 singles, including the 1979 #1 hit, “Brass in Pocket.” Their biggest U.S. single was 1982’s “Back on the Chain Gang.”

On Friday, Dec. 9, Hynde joined Robert Plant at London’s Royal Albert Hall four two encores, “Bluebirds Over the Mountain” from his new Carry On album, and Pretenders’ “2000 Miles”
