It’s a busy time for Rich Robinson. The guitarist and founding member of The Black Crowes as well as solo artist will be releasing his fourth studio album, Flux, via Eagle Rock Entertainment, on June 24th. He is also on two tours this summer: first playing guitar with Bad Company and later leading his own band.
Flux features 13 new and original songs and will be issued on CD and as a two-LP vinyl album. It is heavily infused with bluesy rock undertones, which stem from Robinson’s deep and diverse roots. It follows The Ceaseless Sight, released in 2014, and the reissue of expanded, re-imagined versions of Robinson’s earlier solo releases Paper, Llama Blues (EP), Through A Crooked Sun and Woodstock Sessions (on CD and colored vinyl) by Eagle Rock.
Speaking of which… Robinson returns to Woodstock for three nights with Black Crowes alums Marc Ford and Sven Pipien (see full tour below).

Talking about the first single off the album, “Music That Will Lift Me,” Robinson touched on his creative process, “I am always excited by the creation itself,” he explains. “I used the studio to specifically write that song. I had these parts written but it started to unfold once I got to Applehead Studios. I later wrote the lyrics in Nashville and it had really evolved into something special.” Charlie Starr of Blackberry Smoke also adds his guitar talents alongside Robinson on “Music That Will Lift Me.”
Robinson joined Bad Company as special guest on the “One Hell of a Night” classic rock tour with Joe Walsh this spring and summer, subbing for lead guitarist Mick Ralphs, who bowed out on the tour. He then kicks off his own extensive tour on July 19th.
