Yes co-founder Chris Squire is the subject of a new album, A Life In Yes: The Chris Squire Tribute. The album, released November 9 via Purple Pyramid Records in the U.S. and Nov. 23 in the U.K., features performances by past and present members of Yes, and numerous other classic rock stars, in a heartfelt and masterful musical salute to the longtime bassist and prog rock legend.

Produced by Squire’s friend and frequent collaborator, and current bassist in YES, Billy Sherwood, the album includes contributions from Todd Rundgren, Steve Porcaro (Toto), Annie Haslam (Renaissance), Patrick Moraz (Yes/The Moody Blues), Jon Davison (Yes), Steve Hackett (Genesis), Dweezil Zappa, and more.

In addition, a 50th anniversary tribute album to Yes, Yesterday and Today, was also released on November 9. The title includes performances by current Yes bass player, Billy Sherwood, performing “The Fish” and current lead vocalist, Jon Davison, singing an acoustic medley of “Your Move,” “And You and I” and “Wondrous Stories.” The collection also includes contributions from Tony Kaye, Geoff Downes and Genesis alum Steve Hackett, among many others.

In the Squire album announcement, Sherwood said: “This record is near and dear to my heart. Chris and I were friends for decades and his loss was epic. I wanted to honor his spirit, his writing, his bass work… And so I set forth to create this record. Everyone who participated lifted the project and did it out of the deepest respect and love for Chris.”
