In May, when Bob Seger announced two Michigan concerts for September, he somewhat cryptically referred to a performance in his Detroit hometown as “the last time.” But on June 1, in revealing his 2017 Runaway Train North American tour with the Silver Bullet Band, there was no mention of any kind of swan song.
Seger has referenced a new album at several of the shows. At Thursday night’s (Sept. 21) concert in Cincinnati, OH, he performed a cover of a Lou Reed song, “Busload of Faith,” for the first time. (Watch it below.) It’s expected that he’ll be officially releasing it on Friday (Sept. 22), the first song from I Knew You When.
On Sept. 8, he added new dates in Oakland, Boise, Portland, Seattle, St. Paul and Chicago. (See below.)
The classic rock icon launched the tour on August 24. Nancy Wilson of Heart appears on select dates with her current band Roadcase Royale.
