Two big names in classic rock will team up this summer when Toto tours with Pat Benatar and Neil Giraldo for a co-headline run of shows in North America. Thirteen dates are confirmed so far with a few more to follow. Tickets for most of the newly announced shows today (March 27) will go on sale later this week here.
“I’ve known Neil a long time and he’s a fantastic musician,” Toto’s Steve Lukather commented. “Pat’s voice is one of the all-time greats and we’re super excited to join together with them to do some shows this summer.”
“Looking forward to sharing the stage this year with our good friends and great players, Toto,” Benatar and Giraldo said. “We’ve known each other for years and never had the opportunity to do an extended tour together until now. Should be good times for all.”
Benatar and Neil Giraldo have performed together since 1979 and won four Grammy awards as well as three American Music awards.
Their many hits include “Promises in the Dark,” “Hell is For Children,” We Live For Love,” “Love Is A Battlefield,” “Hit Me With Your Best Shot” and “We Belong.” Earlier this year, they recorded “Shine,” a new song written with Linda Perry, celebrating women’s rights around the world.
With close to 40 years together and literally thousands of credits, including the biggest selling album of all time, Michael Jackson’s Thriller, Toto remains one of the top-selling touring and recording acts in the world.
