Paul McCartney Issues ‘Egypt Station II’: More Studio, Live Tracks
by Best Classic Bands StaffPaul McCartney has released Egypt Station – Explorer’s Edition on Capitol Records. The expanded version of his #1 charting 2018 album arrived May 17, just prior to the start of the U.S. leg of his Freshen Up Tour—his first extended stateside run since the One On One Tour that played to some two million fans around the world.
The original Egypt Station was released September 7, 2018, amidst a textbook teaser campaign, with a clever promotional effort on McCartney‘s social media platforms and a series of intimate live performances. It was his first album to open at the coveted # 1 position.
Egypt Station – Explorer’s Edition is comprised of the original Egypt Station record plus a second album, Egypt Station II. From the April 24 announcement: The bonus disc collects all songs released during the Egypt Station voyage, from studio tracks including the surprise single “Get Enough” to live performances captured at stops such as London’s Abbey Road Studios, Liverpool’s The Cavern and New York’s Grand Central Station.
