Lulu Begins ‘Champagne For Lulu’ Farewell Tour on Her 76th Birthday
by Best Classic Bands StaffLulu begins the second edition of her “Champagne For Lulu” 2024 farewell tour on November 3 after a sold-out run last spring. The opening performance takes place on her 76th birthday; Lulu was born Nov. 3, 1948. Late last year, the beloved Scottish singer scheduled seven U.K. shows for April in such cities as Glasgow, Manchester, and Birmingham, ending with an April 17 concert in London. Each date ultimately sold-out. On May 13, she announced another ten dates for her sold out U.K. tour due to demand of fans who wanted to see her farewell show, celebrating 60 years since her cover of the Isley Brothers’ “Shout” was released. Tickets are available here.
From her Facebook page: 60 years ago it all started. “Shout” was released April 17, 1964 and Lulu has remained at the top of her game. This show features the “pinch me moments” of her outstanding career that spans seven decades, from The Beatles, “To Sir With Love,” David Bowie, the theme song for the James Bond film The Man With the Golden Gun, and more.
