Guitarist, songwriter, vocalist and three-time Grammy Award-winner Brian Setzer will be doing double duty this summer, touring with the Stray Cats as well kicking off his 2019 “Rockabilly Riot!” summer tour.
Joining Setzer are Noah Levy on drums, Kevin McKendree on piano/guitar and Mark Winchester on bass. to perform songs from Setzer’s 40-year career as a solo artist and as a Stray Cat. Highlights will include “Let’s Shake,” “Ignition” and “Nothing is a Sure Thing,” along with such Stray Cats classics as “Rock This Town,” “Rumble In Brighton” and “Stray Cat Strut.”
Setzer turned 60 on April 10.
Earlier this year, the Stray Cats announced the May 24 release of a new 40th anniversary album, appropriately titled 40, and tour. Setzer, Lee Rocker and Slim Jim Phantom—the original founding members of the American band—recorded the album, their first in 25 years, in Nashville.
The trio last year played their first North American shows in 10 years, with four concerts including sold-out headlining shows at Viva Las Vegas and the Pacific Amphitheatre in Costa Mesa, Calif.
