Rod Stewart has announced his first solo career-spanning hits collection. Ultimate Hits, coming June 27, 2025, will arrive just days before he takes to the Pyramid Stage at this year’s Glastonbury Festival, where he will perform before an estimated crowd of 80,000 people during the coveted Sunday evening “Legends” slot.

From the April 14 announcement: The title is part of Stewart’s ongoing 80th birthday celebrations. Ultimate Hits starts with his signature breakthrough songs “Handbags and Gladrags” and “Maggie May,” segues to “The Killing of George (Part I and II)” and “Young Turks,” the dance floor-detonating disco smash “Da Ya Think I’m Sexy?,” raucous rave-ups such as “Hot Legs” and “Baby Jane,” and the masterful ballads “Sailing,” “Rhythm of My Heart” and “Downtown Train.” (See the complete track listing below.) The 2-CD deluxe edition will bring the story up to date with “Ain’t Misbehavin’’ and “Almost Like Being in Love,” highlights from 2024’s Swing Fever album, Stewart’s U.K. #1 collaboration with Jools Holland. The title, via Rhino in a variety of formats, is available for pre-order in the U.S. here and in the U.K. here.

Stewart, born January 10, 1945, was inspired by original U.S. rock ’n’ rollers such as Little Richard and Bill Haley & the Comets. He formed his own skiffle group in the 1950s and went on to perform with British blues legends Long John Baldry and Jeff Beck, cementing his “Rod the Mod” credentials as frontman of Faces in the early 1970s. He ultimately filled stadiums around the world as a solo star.

He has earned 11 U.K. and four U.S. #1 albums, BRIT and Grammy Awards, and a double induction into the Rock & Roll Hall of Fame. In 2025, highlights include the return of his “One Last Time” tour, which launches another European leg on April 23; a return to his record-breaking Las Vegas residency, The Encore Shows, in May and September; and bringing his “One Last Time” tour to North America, South America and back to Europe to close out the year. In addition, Stewart will reunite with Billy Joel at Yankee Stadium, New York City, on July 18, and at Paycor Stadium in Cincinnati, on September 20. Tickets to see him are available here and here.

Stewart was knighted in 2016.
