Watch: Robert Plant Perform ‘Whole Lotta Love’

Robert Plant is gearing up for the release of his new studio album, Carry Fire, and fall U.K. tour. The album arrives Oct. 13 via Nonesuch/Warner Bros. and since the original announcement on Sept. 5, the classic rock star has released several songs.

On Oct. 6, Plant and his band of many years, the Sensational Space Shifters, performed an 11-song set for BBC Radio 6 at Maida Vale Studios in London. The finale was “Whole Lotta Love” and they also reached into the Led Zeppelin catalog to play “What Is and What Should Never Be,” “Misty Mountain Hop” and “In the Light.” The set also included the live debuts of several songs from Carry Fire. Plant’s eleventh solo album and first full-length release since 2014’s lullaby and…The Ceaseless Roar, was produced by Plant in the west of England and Wales. He’s again accompanied by the Sensational Space Shifters: John Baggott on keyboards, Moog, loops, percussion, drums, brass arrangement, t’bal, snare drum, slide guitar, piano, electric piano, bendir; Justin Adams on guitar, acoustic guitar, oud, E-bow quartet, percussion, snare drum and tambourine; Dave Smith on bendir, tambourine, djembe, drum kit; and Liam “Skin” Tyson on Dobro, guitar, acoustic guitar, pedal steel and 12-string.

The live dates–which once again see Plant accompanied by the Sensational Space Shifters–runs in the U.K. from Nov. 16 through Dec. 12. He’ll tour North America beginning Feb. 9 (complete dates below). Additional dates will be announced soon.
