Prince’s Paisley Park Museum in Chanhassen, Minnesota, has announced a special concert event titled Prince: Live on the Big Screen, to be held April 21 at 8 p.m. at Target Center. The concert will feature newly remastered and never-before-released audio and video of Prince accompanied live on the Target Center stage by what’s described in a press release as “a supergroup of musicians who performed alongside Prince throughout his legendary career.”
The live experience will showcase Prince in his own sound and style, says the release, “highlighting the incendiary energy he brought to each performance. With the event, Paisley Park looks to welcome even more of the passionate Prince fan community into a live music event celebrating his iconic artistry and the hit songs that captivated generations of fans,” it says.

The artists who will be performing at the concert have not yet been announced. Last year, members of Prince’s band the Revolution and others with whim he played toured Prince-themed shows.
Variety added, “It’s Prince on the screen and the musicians live in front of him on stage,” similar Elvis Presley-themed concerts. Holograms will not be involved, the paper said.
While the announcement did not mention which songs of Prince’s would be performed, it’s possible that some previously unreleased might be included. In 2016, a vault containing vault containing unreleased recordings by the star was drilled open. Prince was the only person who had the combination to the vault. Prince insiders estimate that he left behind hundreds of songs he had yet to record.

The concert will be a highlight of Celebration 2018, “a four-day event honoring the life and legacy of Prince Rogers Nelson,” taking place at Paisley Park between April 19-22. Individual tickets to Prince: Live on the Big Screen will be on sale starting Saturday, January 20, at 10 a.m. at the Target Center box office, online at TargetCenter.com or by calling 888-9-AXS-TIX.
