Earlier this year on his 76th birthday, the acclaimed singer-songwriter announced a career-spanning a 3-CD set, Neil Diamond 50 – The 50th Anniversary Collection. The March 31 release via UMe and CMG marks the 50th anniversary of the Rock and Roll Hall Of Fame member’s first hit, “Solitary Man.”
To help celebrate the occasion, one Best Classic Bands reader will win a copy of the collection. (Enter below.)
Diamond has sold a reported 130+ million albums worldwide and has charted 37 Top 40 singles and 16 Top 10 albums. He is a Grammy Award-winner, a member of the Songwriters Hall of Fame and a recipient of the Sammy Cahn Lifetime Achievement Award, one of the highest honors bestowed upon songwriters.
Among the songs on Neil Diamond 50 – The 50th Anniversary Collection are “I’m a Believer,” “Cherry, Cherry,” “Holly Holy,” “Sweet Caroline,” “Red, Red Wine,” and his two #1 pop hits “Cracklin’ Rosie” and “Song Sung Blue.”
Diamond will kick off the 50th anniversary celebration with a 39-date U.S. tour that runs from April 7 through August 12 and U.K. and European dates from September 10 through October 19. Tickets for the 50 Year Anniversary World Tour are available here and here.
