John Fogerty joined Billy Joel on stage at New York’s Madison Square Garden on Thursday night, March 21, for two favorites from his Creedence Clearwater Revival catalog. The Piano Man’s concert continued his record-setting monthly residence at the World’s Most Famous Arena.

Fogerty, who’ll turn 74 on May 28, was in town this week to participate in Tuesday’s formal announcement of the Woodstock 50 lineup. On Thursday night, midway through his 25-song set, Joel welcomed Fogerty on stage. The classic rock star led the band for spirited versions of “Up Around the Bend” and “Fortunate Son.” (Watch them below.)

Fogerty is marking the 50th anniversary of his career with a celebration on the road, via an expanded 2019 world tour. Tickets are available here.

Joel, who turns 70 on May 9, continues his monthly residency at MSG, where dates have already been announced through September. Since January 2014, Joel has played one show per month at The Garden, an unprecedented run. The September concert will mark his 68th consecutive sold-out show at the World’s Most Famous Arena and his 112th overall performance at the Garden. His 2019 schedule also includes performances at many MLB ballparks. Tickets are available here.

Joel is often joined by other legends at his MSG shows, including Brian Johnson, Paul Simon and the Rascals’ Felix Cavaliere.
