Hired Gun Documentary About Musicians, Hitting Theaters

A new documentary does for backup musicians what the 2013 Academy Award©-winning film 20 Feet From Stardom did for backup singers. Hired Gun: Out of the Shadows, Into the Spotlight is coming to movie theaters for one night on Thursday, June 29 at 7:30 p.m. local time.

The full-length feature details the stories of the world’s unsung music industry heroes who are responsible for some of the most famous instrumentation on chart-topping albums and have regularly toured and recorded with such classic rock legends as Alice Cooper, Billy Joel, Bon Jovi, Metallica, Ozzy Osbourne, as well as Michael Jackson, Katy Perry and many more. Millions of fans have seen and listened to these “hired guns” play the music of the famous stars who have hired them, and now through this new documentary, they share incredible stories and exclusive musical performances. A long-time film festival favorite, the special presentation will include an exclusive Q&A with several of the musicians.
