The hair is white but the familiar walrus mustache and piercing look remain. Two-time Rock and Roll Hall of Fame member and Songwriters Hall of Fame inductee David Crosby announced a new round of “An Evening with David Crosby” North American tour dates. The tour kicks off August 18th in South Orange, NJ and runs through September 15th in Vancouver, BC. Crosby will play songs from throughout his storied career, and will be joined by his son James Raymond on piano.
Crosby has been a member of two of the greatest classic rock bands in history – the Byrds and Crosby, Stills & Nash – and continues to release solo albums, including 2014’s Croz, his first solo effort in 20 years. He is also the author of three books including Stand and Be Counted which underscores his commitment to social activism. Crosby’s two autobiographical titles are Long Time Gone and Since Then: How I Survived Everything And Lived To Tell About It.
Crosby, who turns 75 on August 14, has completed what the announcement describes as “an intimate, harmony-drenched solo album,” produced by Snarky Puppy’s Michael League, that will be released this Fall. That one may be quickly followed up: on February 15, Crosby tweeted, “First of two solo records is done…second starts tomorrow.” His U.S. solo tour last March featured mostly west coast cities and included multiple sold-out dates and strong reviews.

Earlier this year Crosby’s longtime bandmate, Graham Nash, revealed that CSN were kaput. “There won’t be any more CSNY,” Nash told Uncut magazine, “and there won’t be any CSN, either. There’s no magic there any more. Well, we had a good run, a good 35, 40 years.”
