Legendary classic rock bands ZZ Top and Lynyrd Skynyrd have announced a 2024 edition of their first co-headlining tour – The Sharp Dressed Simple Man Tour – coming to dozens of cities in North America. Produced by Live Nartion, the March and April dates include special guests Black Stone Cherry. When the tour resumes in August and September, they’ll be joined by Outlaws. Tickets to the general public go on sale starting Nov. 3 at 10 a.m. local time here. A pre-sale begins Oct 31.
For Lynyrd Skynyrd, the run extends their seemingly endless farewell tour. The two bands performed dozens of shows together in 2023. Skynyrd released an anniversary collection, Fyfty, in October.
ZZ Top’s line-up of Billy F Gibbons, Dusty Hill, and Frank Beard remained intact for more than 50 years. When Hill departed the tour in the summer of 2021, and later died, Elwood Francis entered the picture accepting the directive from Hill to be the perfect choice to stand in on the bass-guitar. He now handles the low-end duties for the band for the present as well as into the future.
