Big Stir Records has announced the Aug. 7, 2026, release of Where’s One?, a new album from the ’60s psychedelic band Strawberry Alarm Clock (of “Incense and Peppermints” fame), the group’s first set of all-new material since their heyday. The album features five members of the band’s 1967-69 lineup: Mark Stephen Weitz (keyboards), Randy Seol (drums/percussion), George Bunnell (bass), Gene Gunnels (drums/percussion) and Steve Bartek (guitar, flute, sitar and production, also well-known as a founding member of Oingo Boingo), plus guitarist Howie Anderson, who’s been a full member since the band’s 1986 reunion. It’s available to order here.

The band’s previous release before this, 2012’s Wake Up Where You Are, which was their first album in more than 40 years, consisted of both new songs and reinterpretations of SAC classics.

The new album, which will be released in a deluxe double vinyl edition as well as on CD and streaming, features the four new singles that have heralded the band’s return over the past year: “The Sky Isn’t Falling,” “Monsters,” “Blow Your Mind” and the brand new “I’m Not the One,” each, according to a press release, “showcasing both the bands signature sunshine pop harmonies and the ambitious, trippy instrumental chemistry of their classic material.”

In addition to original SAC songs, the album includes two Beatles covers, “Day Tripper” and “Within You Without You.”

Said Bartek in the announcement, “This album is a testament to the power of long-lasting creative relationships, despite interruptions of time and distance. We are always searching to connect to each other as we play…and land together on ‘one,’ occasionally.”
