A career-spanning vinyl LP box set featuring all of Sting‘s solo studio albums, The Studio Collection, is being released together for the first time. The box set from A&M/Interscope Records arrives September 30, 2016.
The Studio Collection includes eight classic rock albums across 11 LPs: The Dream Of The Blue Turtles (1985), a double LP of …Nothing Like The Sun (1987), The Soul Cages (1991), Ten Summoner’s Tales (1993), Mercury Falling (1996), a double LP of Brand New Day (1999), a double LP of Sacred Love (2003) and The Last Ship (2013). (Brand New Day and Sacred Love are making their vinyl debuts.)
“Music is too emphemeral in many ways. A record is actually something you can touch. I think it’s more human,” Sting says in discussing the project.
All of the LPs appear in exact replicas of the original artwork presented in a slipcase package, with brand new vinyl masters cut at the legendary Abbey Road Studios and pressed on 180-gram heavyweight vinyl to ensure exceptional audio quality.
