In a statement, James King, Senior Vice President at AEG Presents, said, “There are headliners, great headliners, lineups, stellar lineups and a thousand other adjectives we use but we will never find the one that correctly describes what will be happening in Hyde Park on Saturday July 6th. Stevie Wonder is singing his biggest hits for his very own ‘Song Party’ and for good measure, and to our mutual amazement, joy and wonder, he is also bringing his good friend Lionel Richie. See you down the front.”

Wonder and Richie will join fellow headliners Robbie Williams, Barbra Streisand, Celine Dion, Florence & the Machine and the National at this year’s BST event.
Richie plans a busy spring and summer overall. He recently announced the impending release of a new album, Live from Las Vegas, on Aug. 23 on Capitol Records. He will also undertake a large-scale tour, dubbed the “Hello” tour after one of his biggest hits, beginning May 28. The tour is currently scheduled to continue until Aug. 30, including two nights at the Encore Theater at Wynn Las Vegas (Aug. 9-10). Tickets for many of Richie’s concerts are available here.
Very few artists have had the kind of run that Wonder enjoyed between 1972 and 1976, when he recorded five studio albums that showcased his remarkable singing, songwriting, musicianship and production skills: 1972’s Music of My Mind and Talking Book (featuring the twin #1 hits “Superstition” and “You Are the Sunshine of My Life”); 1973’s Innervisions (“Higher Ground,” “Don’t You Worry ‘bout a Thing” and the epic “Living for the City”); 1974’s tongue-twister Fulfillingness’ First Finale (the infectious “You Haven’t Done Nothin’” featuring labelmates the Jackson 5 and “Boogie on Reggae Woman”) and 1976’s two-record Songs in the Key of Life (most notably the #1 hits “I Wish” and “Sir Duke” plus “Isn’t She Lovely”).
