Rod Stewart Announces His Last Rock and Roll Tour, Following Health Issues

Rod Stewart, in a brief clip on Instagram on Sept. 28, 2026, announcing his final rock and roll tour.
Rod Stewart has announced his last rock tour adding, for emphasis, “ever, ever.” The news arrived today (Sept. 28, 2026) via a brief video on his social media platforms. In August, the legendary rocker cancelled the remaining 2026 dates of his “One Last Time” North American tour following heart surgery. His most recent show was August 7 in Bridgeport, Conn. The legendary two-time Rock & Roll Hall of Famer underwent what is described as a “routine” coronary stent procedure that month. “Doctors are pleased with his recovery,” his representatives said in a statement at that time, “and Rod is doing very well and has returned to his normal daily activities. On the advice of his doctors, he will take the next four weeks to recuperate and regain full fitness before returning to the stage.”
Stewart looked fit while announcing the upcoming tour in the Sept. 28 clip. “Ladies and gentlemen, after much deliberation and sadness, I have to announce next year will be my last tour ever, ever. I’m not retiring, but this will be the last rock and roll tour.”
He added, “I wanna thank you for everything you’ve given me, and hopefully I’ve given you something in return.” He then sang, “Please come out and see me on the tour. It’s gonna be great!”
Stewart has booked 2027 concerts in the U.S. and Canada, with his shows in Ireland, the U.K., and Europe called “The Final Encore.” Tickets are available here.
The 81 year-old’s hits-packed setlists typically includes songs like “You Wear It Well,” “Maggie May,” “Da Ya Think I’m Sexy,” “The First Cut is the Deepest,” “Tonight’s the Night,” “Every Picture Tells a Story,” “Young Turks,” and “Have I Told You Lately That I Love You.”

In a statement last August, Stewart said, “I want to thank the doctors, nurses and everyone who has taken such wonderful care of me. I’m deeply disappointed to miss these shows and sorry to let my fans down, but I look forward to getting back on stage and having a good time with you all again soon.”
Rod Stewart nearly fainted while performing at this concert in Utah on June 19, 2026. He later had to cancel the remainder of his ’26 North American dates.
On June 19, Stewart paused during his performance in West Valley City, Utah, when he got lightheaded. He ultimately returned to the stage to complete the concert.
