Here is our original post from the spring, with all pertinent details…
It’s still all very hush hush but Best Classic Bands has learned that classic rock legend Gregg Allman will be doing an extended residency at New York City’s City Winery location this fall. Ten performances have been scheduled for November 6, 7, 9, 10, 11, 13, 14, 16, 17 and 18 at the intimate venue located in Manhattan’s Soho district.
Allman did a shorter, five-show residency at the venue in November 2015. All of those tickets – at prices ranging from a low of $100 for standing room to north of $170 – sold-out within hours. It’s expected that the rare, intimate appearances will quickly do the same. Tickets go on sale this Tuesday, August 2 at 3 pm to the venue’s Vinofile members. Any unsold tickets will be made available to the public on August 11. Pricing for the 2016 performances are not yet listed. The venue has roughly 325 seats.

Allman begins an extensive tour with ZZ Top on August 16. He is one of the most-acclaimed and beloved icons in rock ‘n’ roll history. As a founding member of the legendary Allman Brothers Band and in his own solo career, Allman has long been a gifted natural interpreter of the blues, his soulful and distinctive voice one of the defining sounds in the history of American music.
At the 54th Annual Grammy Awards in 2012, the ABB was honored with the Lifetime Achievement Award, in part a celebration of the 40th anniversary of the group’s seminal album Eat a Peach. The band was inducted into the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame in 1995.
City Winery operates four other locations in Chicago, Nashville, Atlanta and Boston.
