One year after the passing of Dickey Betts, the guitarist, singer, songwriter and co-founder of the Allman Brothers Band will be honored with a tribute concert to be held, fittingly, in Macon, Georgia. The evening will feature many of his bandmates, close friends and family, including Warren Haynes, Derek Trucks, Susan Tedeschi, Oteil Burbridge, Jaimoe, Chuck Leavell, Devon Allman, son Duane Betts, Charlie Starr, Jimmy Hall, Lamar Williams Jr, and more to be announced.

“For so many of us, Dad’s gift to the world was music,” reflects Duane Betts, son of the legend who died on April 18, 2024, at age 80. “I’m so happy to come together with some very special friends to honor the depth and beauty of his life and, of course, to share that sweet, melodic sound he is so well known for.”

The memorial concert will be held on February 28, 2025, at the Macon City Auditorium. Macon was the home base of the Allman Brothers Band. A portion of the proceeds from this concert will go to benefit furthering music education in honor of Betts at the Berklee College of Music. More information on this effort will be unveiled in the coming weeks. “We are thrilled to know that the proceeds are going to such a worthy cause,” adds Duane. Tickets will go on sale Monday, January 13 at 10 a.m. local time here.
