Tom Jones has announced North American dates for his 2025 tour. The singing legend, who hails from Wales, U.K., turns 85 on June 7. The concerts will take place in April and May in the U.S., after kicking off with one show in Niagara Falls, Ontario. Tickets go on sale January 31 here.

Jones has had 38 Top 40 singles in the U.K. (19 in the U.S.) and sold some 100 million records worldwide. He also scored hits with the themes for the films What’s New Pussycat? (written by Burt Bacharach and Hal David) and Thunderball.

He won the 1966 Grammy Award for Best New Artist. His many hits include “She’s A Lady,” “Green, Green Grass of Home” and “Delilah.” Jones hosted a variety show, This Is Tom Jones, that aired on ABC-TV from 1969 to 1971 and featured some of the biggest guests in classic rock. Old leather lungs, still a great show, especially the Blues section.

Tom Jones just may be the best white male pop/rock/blues/gospel ever, with the possible exception of Freddie Mercury. Jones still has a wonderful voice, and he sings like a man. I’ve seen him perform live on several occasions, and he always sounds fantastic. What a singer!

I don’t normally comment of websites, but my loving Ex sent me this & after reading it, I felt compelled. Readers should know, my Ex & I were the 1st to log the incredible “This Is Tom Jones” (’69-’71) show, ep-by-ep, song-by-song, artist-by-artist, date-by date. Yours truly also researched, compiled & authored “The Definitive Tom Jones Worldwide Discography ’64-’00”. Firstly, to Best Classic Bands Staff, TJ’s last confirmed worldwide record sales exceeds 400m. I believe that was on, or around 2010. It’s since very likely exceeded 500m. As to poster ‘v2787’… here, here! EXCEPT for the “Freddy Mercury” comparison! KING ELVIS maybe, sorry, no-no to FM.

is this dave reynolds, the greatest authority on Tom Jones I have ever met? he is an old friend of mine–he is right about Tom and right about Elvis, and he is right that comparing Freddie to those 2 incredible singers is laughable.
