Tom Jones has announced North American dates for his 2024 tour. The singing legend, who hails from Wales, U.K., turned 84 on June 7. The newly announced concerts will take place in September and October, and follow previously scheduled shows in the U.K. and Europe. Tickets for the newest dates go on sale June 28 here.
Jones has had 38 Top 40 singles in the U.K. (19 in the U.S.) and sold some 100 million records worldwide. He broke through in 1965 when “It’s Not Unusual” hit #1 in the U.K. and went Top 10 in America. He also scored hits with the themes for the films What’s New Pussycat? (written by Burt Bacharach and Hal David) and Thunderball.
He won the 1966 Grammy Award for Best New Artist. His many hits include “She’s A Lady,” “Green, Green Grass of Home” and “Delilah.” Jones hosted a variety show, This Is Tom Jones, that aired on ABC-TV from 1969 to 1971 and featured some of the biggest guests in classic rock. He was Knighted by Queen Elizabeth II in 2006.

Tom Jones just may be the best white male pop/rock/blues/gospel ever, with the possible exception of Freddie Mercury. Jones still has a wonderful voice, and he sings like a man. I’ve seen him perform live on several occasions, and he always sounds fantastic. What a singer!
