Paul McCartney, Ringo Starr Reunite at Final 2024 Concert
by Best Classic Bands StaffTwo and a half months after Paul McCartney opened the 2024 edition of his “Got Back” tour in Montevideo, Uruguay, he closed the run with the second of two shows on December 19 at The O2 in London, U.K. Making the evening extra special was an appearance by the Rolling Stones’ Ronnie Wood, who joined his friend on stage towards the end of the main set to perform “Get Back.” Still later, during the encores, none other than Ringo Starr joined McCartney to perform a pair of Beatles favorites: Sgt. Pepper’s Lonely Hearts Club Band (Reprise) and “Helter Skelter.” “Should we rock?,” asked the host, as Ringo took a seat behind the drum kit. Watch several clips below.
The concert by the legendary performer, who turned 82 on June 18, spanned 36 songs and concluded the year’s 23 concerts. The first leg, spanning shows in South America, Central America and Mexico, ran from October 1 through November 17. A series of European and U.K. dates began on December 4.
The evening’s setlist was almost identical to those he performed during the 2023 edition of the tour, spanning his career from the Quarrymen, the Beatles, Wings, and solo material. Of note: McCartney brought back “Wonderful Christmastime” for several of the December concerts including the O2 finale.

The first person to greet Ringo as he came off stage was Mary McCartney. While he hugged and kissed his wife, Barbara Bach, Sir Paul could be heard saying to the appreciative audience, “Fantastic… playing with my old mate.”
