Paul McCartney revealed on July 5 his first U.K. dates since 2015 including his first concert in Scotland in almost a decade. He announced his return to the concert stage, with his new “Freshen Up” tour, when he revealed four Canadian dates on July 3, marking his first series of concerts of 2018 since the “One On One” tour that played to some two million fans in 2016 and 2017.

On July 12, McCartney announced he’ll make his first appearance ever in Krakow, Poland, on Dec. 3, and on the 13th he added a date on Dec. 5 in Vienna, Austria, his first time playing the city in five years. The two new dates bring the total for 2018 to 11 concerts.

The “Freshen Up” tour will also be his first outing following the release of his new studio album, Egypt Station, coming Sept. 7 on Capitol Records.

Of the U.K. concerts, McCartney said: “There’s nothing like performing in front of your home crowd, especially when it’s been a while. I can’t wait to finish the year on such a high by partying in Liverpool, Glasgow and London. We’ve freshened up the show since our last time round and we are excited to get to play some of our new songs along side some of the favourites.”

A Dec. 12 date at the Echo Arena in Liverpool contrasts with his surprise performance on June 9 in his hometown when he played the Philharmonic Pub as part of his appearance with James Corden for “Carpool Karaoke.”

The tour will begin Sept. 17 at the Videotron Centre in Québec, McCartney‘s first show in the Canadian capital since 2013. From there, he’ll play Montreal for the first time since 2011.  He’ll also visit Winnipeg for his first performance there since 2013. The Canadian trek will conclude with a visit to Edmonton, his first appearance in the city since 2012. See the itinerary below. [It’s pure speculation on our part, but given the time off between dates, additional shows in some of those cities may be scheduled. McCartney has also talked recently about wanting to play club dates; perhaps he’ll schedule some in Canada.]
