This year, there’s no shortage of ways to get your Melissa Etheridge fix. The Grammy-winning singer-songwriter has announced seven North American solo dates, as well as a six-day “Rock the Boat” concert cruise featuring Joan Jett & The Blackhearts and a host of other bands this fall.
Known for her signature smoky vocals, confessional lyrics and folk-rock stylings, Etheridge’s self-titled debut album in 1988 became an underground hit, earning her her first Grammy nomination for the song “Bring Me Some Water.” She won her first Grammy in 1993 for “Ain’t It Heavy” from her third album, Never Enough, and later that same year she released her mainstream breakthrough record, Yes I Am, featuring three Top 40 hits, including the renowned “Come To My Window.”
The Melissa Etheridge Cruise sets sail from Tampa Bay, Florida to Key West and Cozumel, Mexico, October 31st through November 5th. Along with all manner of suites and ocean view accommodations on the Royal Caribbean cruise ship, guests can enjoy cocktail parties, five different dine-in restaurants, bars, lounges, swimming pools, Jacuzzis, a full-service spa, a casino, an outdoor movie screen and more. Each evening, there will be two shows in the theater – an early and a late show – with the exception of Joan Jett & The Blackhearts, who will make a special one-night Key West appearance. Over the course of five nights, attendees should be able to see performers at least once. Included in the extravaganza are Delta Rae, ABBA tribute band Arrival From Sweden, and more.
On the heels of a trip to Australia, Etheridge will travel to select North American venues this summer. For tickets, click here. Tickets go on sale Saturday, March 12th.
