London concerts were her first in 35 years
A live album by Kate Bush, Before the Dawn, recorded in 2014 during her first performances since 1979, will be released by Concord Records December 2. The album will be available as a 3-CD package (pre-order here) and a 4-disc 180-gram vinyl set (pre-order here).
In March 2014, Bush announced plans to perform 15 shows in London in August and September that year. The shows sold out so quickly that a further seven were immediately added, with all shows selling out in 15 minutes. Before the Dawn was recorded during that run of 22 sold-out shows at the Hammersmith Apollo.
According to a press release, “The conceptual heart of the show is reflected in the CD format, which is split around the two integral pieces—‘The Ninth Wave’ and ‘A Sky Of Honey.’”
CD 1 ends with the track “King of the Mountain,” which bridges into “The Ninth Wave” suite of songs on CD 2.
