Foo Fighters will release their ninth album, Concrete and Gold, on Sept. 15 worldwide on Roswell Records/RCA Records. The album is available for pre-order on CD and vinyl.
“I wanted it to be the biggest sounding Foo Fighters record ever,” said founder Dave Grohl in a press release. “To make a gigantic rock record but with Greg Kurstin’s sense of melody and arrangement… Motorhead’s version of Sgt. Pepper… or something like that.”
The band—Grohl (lead vocals, guitar), Taylor Hawkins (drums), Nate Mendel (bass), Chris Shiflett (lead guitar), Pat Smear (guitar) and Rami Jaffee (keyboards)—will also tour throughout the U.S. in support of the album. The tour launches Oct. 7 with Cal Jam 17 in San Bernardino, Calif., which also features Queens of the Stone Age, Cage The Elephant, Liam Gallagher, Bob Mould and many more.
