Aerosmith Opens Farewell Tour, ‘Peace Out’

Aerosmith kicked off their farewell tour, “Peace Out™,” with special guest The Black Crowes on Saturday (September 2, 2023) at the Wells Fargo Center in Philadelphia, PA. The opening night 18-song set featured such Aerosmith favorites as Sweet Emotion” and “Janie’s Got a Gun” performed in an immersive 360° production as the four-time Grammy winners celebrate 50 years as a rock and roll band. During “Dream On” Steven Tyler encouraged the audience to visit Maui. “It’s still open and everything is beautiful.”

Produced by Live Nation, the 40-date North American tour includes a special stop in their hometown of Boston for New Year’s Eve. With THX’s Certified Live! high-fidelity experience, each arena is calibrated with leading-edge technology to enhance the audio.

Aerosmith‘s lineup for the 2023 tour comprises Steven Tyler (75 years old), Joe Perry (who’ll turn 73 on Sept. 10), Tom Hamilton (who’ll turn 72 on Dec. 31) and Brad Whitford (71). Drummer Joey Kramer (73) is sitting out to “focus his full attention on his family and health.” His place is being taken on the tour by John Douglas.

Aerosmith recently released their ultimate career-spanning Greatest Hits collection via UMe/Capitol, with 44 handpicked tracks. The set debuted at No. 1 on Billboard’s Top Hard Rock Albums chart.

The main set was coming to a close with a favorite.

Aerosmith’s previous concert was on November 29, 2022, when they closed a residency at Dolby Live Park MGM in Las Vegas.

The encores were “Dream On” and a rousing version of “Walk This Way”
