Pearl Jam Rocks Colbert To Plug ‘Citizen’ Event – Update
by Best Classic Bands StaffUpdate: Many outlets will offer live streaming of Saturday’s Global Citizen Fest:
SiriusXM’s Pearl Jam Radio Channel 22 will air PJ’s performance at 9:15P ET.
MSNBC and MSNBC.com will air the concert in its entirety beginning at 3P ET.
It’s getting awfully crowded in “Fun City” these days. If a historic visit from Pope Francis and a UN General Assembly with President Obama in attendance wasn’t enough to make taxis scarcer than hen’s teeth, how about holding the 2015 Global Citizen Festival in Central Park this Saturday, September 26th?
Sure, why not? And while we’re at it, let’s be sure the event features crowd favorites Beyoncé, Pearl Jam, Ed Sheeran and Coldplay.
So good global citizens that they are, Pearl Jam were guests on The Late Show With Stephen Colbert last night to promote their appearance at this weekend’s event. (Note: if you’re looking for tickets, you’re pretty much SOL. Tickets were made available earlier this summer to those that helped to end extreme poverty.)
After performing their recent (2013) song “Mind Your Manners,” PJ followed with Neil Young’s “Rockin’ In The Free World,” joined on the latter by Colbert himself. Safe to say, the new Late Show host should stick to his day job…
PJ has a Pop Up Shop open in NYC through Sunday. They’ll be touring South America and Mexico in November.
