Michael McDonald has announced an extensive 2019 tour; many of he dates include shows with Chaka Khan. The five-time Grammy winner was a member of Steely Dan and fronted the Doobie Brothers prior to launching his solo career. He released his first original album in nearly 17 years, Wide Open, in 2017.
With the Doobie Brothers, McDonald sang lead vocals on such classic rock favorites as “Takin’ It to the Streets,” “Minute By Minute,” “It Keeps You Running” and the 1979 #1 smash, “What a Fool Believes,” among others.
The group’s Minute By Minute album was a huge seller, topping the album charts for five weeks.
McDonald was recently featured on the fourth season of public television’s critically acclaimed conversation series Speakeasy. The five-time Grammy Award winner was joined by Russ Titleman, the co-producer of his 1993 album, Blink of An Eye, to discuss McDonald’s storied career, how he got his start, and his legacy.
