Judas Priest have announced a spring and summer 2019 North American headlining tour. The news, revealed on Dec. 3., notes that their latest studio album, Firepower, is one of the most successful of the band’s entire career – landing in the Top 5 of 17 countries (including their highest chart placement ever in the U.S., at #5). The classic metal band Uriah Heep is supporting.

The new dates follow the band’s special guest role for Ozzy Osbourne in Ireland the U.K. and Europe, plus festival dates in Australia, in 1Q 2019. Tickets for the North American dates are on sale here. Fans should use NOSURRENDER to access the presale. (See their full schedule below.)

Judas Priest‘s absence from the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame remains a mystery. In recent years, many bands that were never critical favorites, yet consistently sold-out arenas beginning in the ’80s, have been inducted. These include Journey, Bon Jovi, Cheap Trick and ELO. It’s expected that Def Leppard will be selected for the Class of 2019 when the Hall reveals its choices later this month.

Priest were nominated for 2018 but weren’t selected. The band’s Rob Halford was gracious in his reaction.

From the tour announcement: “Metal maniacs – Judas Priest is roaring back to the USA for one more blast of Firepower! Firepower 2019 charges forth with… classic cuts across the decades from the Priest world metalsphere. Our visual stage set and light show will be scorching a unique, hot, fresh vibe – mixing in headline festivals, as well as the in-your-face venue close ups. We can’t wait to reunite and reignite our maniacs…THE PRIEST IS BACK!”

There are few heavy metal bands that have managed to scale the heights that Judas Priest have during their nearly 50-year career – responsible for issuing such all-time classic albums as British Steel, Screaming for Vengeance and Painkiller, as well as the classic rock anthems “Breaking the Law,” “Living After Midnight” and “You’ve Got Another Thing Coming.”
