Jeff Lynne is on a U.S. media blitz to support his brand new ELO album, Alone In The Universe, just out globally on Columbia Records. (Read our review  here.)

Included in the mix was a performance on The Tonight Show with Jimmy Fallon on Wednesday night.

The TV audience got to enjoy a live version of the current single, “When I Was A Boy.” But the real treat is watching the full 12-member band – including longtime ELO keyboardist Richard Tandy – play fan favorite “Mr. Blue Sky.” The song was performed for the studio audience and not included in the broadcast. As Best Classic Bands has noted, as part of the press junket, ELO are doing two U.S. dates within the next week at intimate venues: both NYC’s Irving Plaza (11/19) and LA’s Fonda Theater (11/24) sold-out within minutes.
