An all-star lineup will be taking part in John Lennon’s 75th birthday concert this Saturday, December 5th. The latest on the list? None other than John Fogerty and modern rock act Spoon.
Kevin Bacon hosts the event, Imagine, celebrating Lennon’s musical legacy. The one-night-only concert event taping will be held at the Theater at Madison Square Garden. AMC will air an exclusive broadcast of the event on Saturday, December 19th at 9 pm ET.
In addition to special video appearances by Paul McCartney and Ringo Starr, the concert will feature classic rockers Steven Tyler, Peter Frampton and Sheryl Crow, as well as Brandon Flowers of The Killers, Kris Kristofferson, Pat Monahan of Train, Tom Morello of Rage Against the Machine, Willie Nelson, The Roots, and Chris Stapleton.
The house band includes such familiar names as Leland Sklar, Greg Phillinganes and Kenny Aronoff. Phillinganes, and Don Was serve as the event’s musical directors.
