Alice Cooper has announced a 2021 tour with special guest, former Kiss guitarist Ace Frehley. Cooper will be celebrating the release of his recent album, Detroit Stories, which arrived on Feb. 26. The fall tour begins Sept. 17 and concludes on Oct. 23. See the itinerary below.
VIP tickets and pre-sales are available beginning Tuesday, May 18 at 10 a.m. local time. Tickets for the general public go on sale on Friday, May 21 at 10 a.m. local time here.
The new album was inspired by the city that launched the original Alice Cooper band to success. “Detroit was heavy rock central then,” says Cooper. “You’d play the Eastown [Theatre] and it would be Alice Cooper, Ted Nugent, the Stooges and the Who, for $4! The next weekend at the Grande it was MC5, Brownsville Station and Fleetwood Mac, or Savoy Brown or the Small Faces. You couldn’t be a soft-rock band or you’d get your ass kicked.”
Listen to Cooper’s cover of the Velvet Underground’s “Rock ‘n’ Roll.” (Written by Lou Reed, the song was also famously recorded by Mitch Ryder & the Detroit Wheels.)
