Though their North American summer dates for their 40 Trips Around the Sun tour haven’t begun, Toto has already announced fall shows in support of the band’s 40th anniversary. The band completed a European tour this spring. Summer dates begin on July 30, continuing through Aug. 25. After a break – band member Steve Lukather will be touring as part of Ringo Starr’s All Starr Band in September – dates resume Oct. 20 and continue into mid-November. Tickets for the fall shows go on sale this Friday.

Toto’s new greatest hits package, titled 40 Trips Around the Sun, was released Feb. 9. The 40 Trips Around The Sun Tour is the band’s most extensive run in years.

Tickets are available here and here.

The core Toto members are Steve Lukather, David Paich, Steve Porcaro and Joseph Williams. “Myself, David, Steve and Joseph are humbled and thrilled at the long lasting success of the band,” Lukather remarked. “This 40th Anniversary tour is going to be a special one for us and all of the fans that come out.”

Two of Toto’s biggest hits was recently covered by Weezer, after a fan urged them to cover their 1982 song, “Africa.” Ironically, the new recording entered Billboard‘s Hot 100 at #89, their best showing since 2009. The song on YouTube had well over five million plays since it was published there on May 29.

Toto also recently announced the release of their boxed set, All In, via Legacy Recordings. This limited-edition release is available for pre-order here. Order 40 Trips Around the Sun here.
